Notes:
B = border stitch of 2 knit stitches on each side.
WYIB = With yarn in back, WYIF = With
yarn in front.
Sl 1 = On RS rows, slip stitch knit
wise on WS rows, slip stitch purl wise.
Cast on: Multiple
of 4 + 3 (16 + 3 = 19)
Border:
Row 1: Knit across.
Row 2: Knit across.
Pattern:
Row 1: (RS) B2, K3, *Sl 1 (WYIB), K3; repeat
from *, end B2
Row 2: (WS) B2, K3, *Sl 1 (WYIF), K3; repeat
from *, end B2.
Row 3: B2, K1, *Sl 1 (WYIB), K3; repeat from *,
end last 4 sts: Sl 1, (WYIB), K1, B2.
Row 4: B2, K1, *Sl 1 (WYIF), K3; repeat from *,
end last 4 sts: Sl 1 (WYIF), K1, B2.
Border:
Row 1: Knit across
Row 2: Knit across
Work
to desired length, I repeated the 4 row set 7 more times. Bind off and weave in
ends.
You
can make into a cloth by adding more stitches to cast on. You may want to
increase the border stitches to 4 on each end and increasing the pattern
stitches to 28 + 3 + 8 border pattern = 39.
